Annoying Annoyances that Continue to Annoy Me
I've had it!
I'm not going to take it anymore!!!!!!
Here are a few of the things that cause what's left of my hair to rise on the back of my neck:
Alienware produces a super, teched-out gaming computer for $6,200 but doesn't include wi-fi for all of us online gamers. C'mon guys, you've produced a computer we gamers would otherwise drool over. But no wi-fi? That's annoying!
Microsoft finally releases Internet Explorer 8 and it still has several of the bugs beta testers reported months ago. For example, the durn thing reports non-existent crashes by constantly proclaiming the program isn't working, when, in actuality, it is. That's annoying!
Adobe's on-again, off-again registration database, which notifies users that they're no longer registered and to reinstall the software. And, when you do, you still get the same error message. This has been especially prevalent in Adobe's new CS4 versions, but has also happened to those of us using Photoshop CS3 and other Creative Suite 3 programs. That's annoying!
Microsoft Vista's annoying "hangs" that usually occur during the first five or 10 minutes after you boot up your computer. Patience can run a bit thin while you're waiting for a Web page to load or to access your email. That's annoying!
Bloatware clogging up the hard drive of a new computer. This is all stuff you'll never need or want and usually comes in the form of trial software or advertising that loads every time you boot up your computer. That's annoying!
Companies that sell you a computer offering to remove the bloatware for a fee. Why should we have to pay a retail store geek to get rid of something that shouldn't be there in the first place! That's annoying!
Finally-Fast. com commercials from Ascentive Software that proclaim they can speed up your PC in just a few easy steps. What they don't tell you is that you have to purchase up to four separate programs to perform tasks that one application should do. And, they are added to your computer's startup, which slows down the computer again making it only half-fast. That's annoying!
