Sad,
but true...
Here's a true story from an anonymous source:
<Not David Berman> Hello, this is Fred, how can I help you?
<User> Hi Fred, I'm trying to get my CDs to play in my computer,
but they're not playing.
<Not David Berman> You have your CD in the drive and speakers connected
to the computer?
<User> Yes, and I have the program up to play the CDs.
<Not David Berman> Do you see a little triangle that points to the
right?
<User> Yes.
<Not David Berman> Did you click it?
<User> Yes, and it seems to be doing something.
<Not David Berman> I assume you're not hearing anything at this
point?
<User> Nope, and I have my headphones connected.
<Not David Berman> Headphones? Oh. Well if you have headphones and
you're talking to me, you must not have put them on. Do you hear anything
when you put them on?
<User> Hold on...
<Not David Berman> *insert laughter here*
<User> Yep, I hear it now, thanks!
<Not David Berman> *insert more laughter here*

This is another true story not brought to you by David Berman
At the office we have a very strict policy about printing on the color
printer.
Well, I happened to be walking into the copy room where the color printer
was and I saw this woman putting orange paper into the color printer.
She was printing black and white flyers on this colored paper using the
color printer.
After I stopped laughing, I spent a few minutes explaining to her that
you can print black and white on colored paper using a black and white
printer.
As luck may have it, this was the same person that didn't realize you
need to put on headphones to hear music.
