Books to degunk your lifeParaglyph Press books help you clean out your gunkBy MIKE BERMAN During the past few months I've been degunked, degreased and decongested, all thanks to a series of books from the Paraglyph Press. It all began innocently enough with "Degunking Microsoft Windows" and has now expanded into everything from "Degunking eBay" to "Degunking Your Personal Finances." The four latest books in the series have me convinced that this degunking gig can go on forever. "Degunking eBay" ($24.95) by Greg Holden shows you how to lighten the load when buying, trading or selling on what has become one of the world's most monstrous marketplaces. The book even includes a 12-step plan (somewhat like AA) that makes it easier to navigate eBay's thousands of categories without getting bogged down. "Degunking Your E-Mail, Spam and Viruses" ($24.95) by Jeff Dunterman takes you through another 12-step process (are you starting to see a pattern here?) in cleaning out all the clutter that hits your inbox. It takes you through everything from organizing your inbox to setting up filters to weed out spam and viral infections. "Degunking Microsoft Office" ($24.95) by Wayne and Christina Palaia also includes the requisite 12-step program and shows you how to slim this monstrous compendium of programs down to a manageable level. It takes you through the process of getting rid of unwanted files to organizing your work making it easy to tame this monster. Last, but not least, is "Degunking Your Personal Finances" ($24.95) by Shannon Plate, which shows you how to deal with _ and get out of _ debt and get your financial house in order. Basically this is a must have book for anyone that is having a problem making that next car payment or paying the mortgage. All of the books in the series can be extremely useful for anyone needing help degunking the clutter from their PCs or their financial situations. In fact, although I make fun of it, just following the 12-step plans can make your experience a lot more pleasurable. More information on these books and others in the series can be found at www.paraglyphpress.com.
