Thinking of getting "the boss" (you know who she is) jewelry for the holidays? Well, the folks at LG Electronics want you to think about high fashion and efficiency at the same time.

Believe it or don't, LG has come out with a line of USB flash memory drives they believe will look as good as they perform when on a chain around your loved one's neck. Obviously this is taking geek marketing to the next level, with the packaging showing women in evening gowns wearing these devices . . . but who knows, this could become the fashion statement of the 21st century.

The drives come in a choice of colors: wine (which is sort of gold in color), silver, mirror or how about platinum in a gift case

Other features include:

USB 1.1 or 2.0 compatibility.

• Capacity ranges from 64 megabytes to 2 gigabytes.
• They are plug and play compatible.
• They're capable of transferring data at speeds up to eight megabytes per second.

For those of you that aren't that fashion conscious, LG also offers a small, retractable USB drive boasting the same features as its more fashionable peers. Also, since it's retractable, you don't have to fear losing the cap to the drive.

LG has also come out with a full line of memory cards for your cameras, cell phones and MP3 players that are fast and reliable and can store up to one gigabyte of data. I've been playing with their "ultra high speed" SD, Compact Flash and miniSD cards and have yet to have a problem. And, since they're high-speed cards, you don't experience the long delays between taking photos or listening to music that has become common when using digital cameras and other devices.

The miniSD card comes with an adapter that enables you to use it in a standard SD slot.
