G-Force Game Inspired by the Upcoming Walt Disney Pictures Feature Film to Blast onto Multiple Platforms This Summer

Binghamton, NY, March 30, 2009 McIntosh® Laboratory, renowned as a leading manufacturer of the world’s best and most complete ultra-luxury home entertainment solutions, today announced that its highly anticipated 60th anniversary limited-edition reissues of legendary amplifiers are now available at select retailers.  The reissued components, including the MC75 monoblock tube amplifier (modeled after the original 1961 version) and the C22 preamplifier (originally introduced in 1962), comprise McIntosh’s new Limited Edition 60th anniversary “Classic System.”  Both components have been updated for use in today’s modern home entertainment universe, and only 120 sets of the classic system will be available in North America, for a suggested retail price of $15,000.

The luxury components will be packaged along with a special numbered version of the beautiful McIntosh tabletop book, for the love of music, signed by author Ken Kessler, renowned audio engineer and McIntosh co-founder Sidney Corderman, who wrote the foreword to the book, and McIntosh President Charlie Randall. Chronicling the McIntosh legacy since its founding in the early 1940s, for the love of music begins with the story of how Frank McIntosh, who ran an engineering firm that designed broadcast television stations, recognized the limitations of then-available audio equipment and set out to build a better amplifier. The resulting prototype became the famed 50W-1, a product that set new standards in audio amplification and is still the foundation of all high-performance amplifiers today.

Two Components that Defined the Age of High Fidelity
The McIntosh MC75 75-watt per channel stereo amplifier was introduced in 1961, just three years after the BBC began its first regular broadcasts in stereo sound. The debut of this ultimate-quality monoblock amp reflected McIntosh’s early and continuing commitment to pushing the limits of performance and providing customers with the very best solutions in audio. Largely true to the original design, the new Limited Edition MC75 offers many circuit updates that improve reliability while retaining the alluring sonic character of the original. Among the updates is a custom application of the patented Sentry Monitor short circuit protection. Balanced inputs and outputs are added to make the amplifier ready for today’s digital sources. The MC75 develops 75 watts into 2, 4, or 8 ohms. Introduced in 1962, the McIntosh C22 Tube Preamplifier ushered in the era of the audio preamp as the “control center”. Designed to function as a superb line stage, phono preamp, equalizer and input switch, the C22 raised the bar for competing preamplifiers, and forged a standard of features and flexibility for future McIntosh preamp designs that endures to this day. The 60th anniversary C22 recreates the look and feel of the original with its backlit glass and brushed anodized aluminum front panel, and sees the addition of a number of circuit enhancements that bring the design current with recent McIntosh preamplifier specifications. Players be warned, however; Drill Sergeant Mindstrong is here to ensure your boot camp experience is everything but a walk in the park. When players fail to answer questions correctly or do not answer in a timely matter, the Drill Sergeant’s anger level will increase. Once his anger has reached its limit, the Drill Sergeant is not afraid to embarrass players by making them do punishments right there on the spot.

 

Drill Sergeant Mindstrong was developed by HI Corporation and is scheduled to be released in April 2009.

Dual, on-board LVDS ports support two 24-bit single channel interfaces with panel resolutions of up to 1280 x 1024. Both LVDS ports can offer independently configured resolutions and refresh rates in combination with an on-board VGA port supporting resolutions up to 1920 x 1440. 
 
Networking includes dual VIA VT6130 Gigabit Ethernet controllers via two RJ45 ports, supporting Wake On LAN and PXE features. Storage support includes two on-board S-ATA ports and one compact flash socket with HD audio provided through the VIA VT1708B HD audio codec. Two USB 2.0 ports are provided on front panel I/O with an additional four available via pin headers.
 
Four flexible on-board serial ports include support for two RS-232/422/485 ports, selectable without jumpers through the BIOS, while a PS/2 compatible bi-directional parallel port is available through pin headers. HyperOffice sees shift by large companies to online collaboration tools

  

ROCKVILLE, MD., 1 Apr. 2009 - As the economy grows tougher, HyperOffice is seeing larger companies shift to "software-as-a-service" and the online collaboration tools that HyperOffice originally designed to help smaller companies grow.

 

"I use HyperOffice as a means of communicating deadlines and deliverable dates to freelancers outside our corporate firewall," said Brad Sims at Time Inc. Consumer Marketing.

 

"The freelancers do not have access to our internal Outlook calendars or other corporate project management software, but we're all able to access the schedule through HyperOffice online calendars any time, anywhere, because HyperOffice allows me, the project manager, to overlay project calendars and coordinate deadlines effectively," said Sims.

For example, of the approximately $64 billion spent on business and collaboration applications worldwide in 2008, research firm Gartner estimates that about 10 percent, or $6.4 billion, was spent on applications housed remotely and delivered via the Net.

 

Research firm IDC expects overall spending on subscription software to grow at a compounded 18 percent a year, to $19.8 billion, by 2012. The firm said surveys indicated that the recession would prompt more users to choose subscription-based services over on-premises applications. IDC also forecast that nearly 45 percent of U.S. companies will spend at least one-fourth of their IT budgets on SaaS by next year, up from 23 percent in 2008 - and projects that hosted software can bring cost savings of 25 to 60 percent if maintenance and IT staff are factored in.

 

And, in mid-2008, Kelton Research reported that nearly 73 percent of large companies said they have adopted software over the Web or plan to adopt it in the next 18 months.
